new plancetta from San Francisco

Hi Spearos - I am new here and wish to post images of a plancetta I developed for where I live in California. Here in California divers access their hunting areas from shore very often. Often we must climb down steep hillsides to arrive to our entry spot. We collect varities of shellfish and finned fish. I think this is a useful plancetta where ruggedness is a concern. I am not here to make sales or spam. Thanks!

Yes - I'll explain. It is rotomolded polyethylene. If it is 3mm thick it will weigh 4.2kg. It is 96cm long, 56 wide and 20 deep. It has 45 kg of buoyancy. It is not quite done. I am adding deck hardware to make it easier for tie down items and astening guns on the side. Also a simple anchor system and a deck plate. Here are links to those items I will add.

I basically brought my idea to some rotomolding companies and they sent me to a mold maker - the tooling to make each one is made of cast aluminum. Here are some earlier photos of that process.

complimenti per il tuo lavoro,io aggiungerei dei perni laterali nel retro per poter innestare delle ruote per gli spostamenti a terra,o dei fori dove inserire dei mozzi,le soluzioni sono varie non è neanche necessario modificare lo stampaggio le si potrebbero ineserire a posteriori incollando o forando e incollando la scocca.

 

 

ps:I'm really curious to your rifle's handle advanced than the stem, how to exploit the full length? tooth coupling is always the base of the gun and uses a mechanism stretched or simply has the notch in the shaft coupling at the trigger?

 

p.s.mi incuriosisce molto il tuo fucile:ha l'impugnatura avanzata rispetto al fusto,come funziona per sfruttarne tutta la lunghezza?il dente di aggancio è sempre nella base del fucile e utilizza un meccanismo allungato o più semplicemente l'asta ha la tacca di aggancio all'altezza dal grilletto?

anche io opterei per l'inserimento di ruote (tipo trolley) per facilitarne il trasporto. Inoltre sono curioso sulla tipologia e sul funzionamento del tuo fucile

This is probably the best ”homemade” tool that I have ever seen, you should start thinking of going out to market with your idea.

It is also a good system to keep your catch fresh and out of the water which is not a bad idea especially if there are sharks or seals around.

Thanks Sspirito! It is homemade in a sense and in a sense it is not. The way it IS homemade is that me, myself and I, nobody else, thought of something, designed it and carried it through from start to finish. I first called several rotational molding companies asking price and other details. I then went with Rotonics who led me to Mainland Products (owned and operated by John Hammond) - he makes the vast majority of all rotomolding tools in the Western US and he is an authority on tooling. He made Ocean Kayaks tools. I have been working with John Hammond since March of this year on this project. 99.99% of his customers are corporations that like to push their way around - so for him to work with an individual like me is very refreshing. The tool was made by professionals that are really the best at what they do. Their is alot of design engineered into my part - the Solid Works ladder is the longest that John Hammonds engineer ever dealt with. I hope this makes some sense after using Google auto translate.

 

I am marketing it and their are many that eagerly await it. It will be going to Australia, NZ, Hawaii, Northeast US, Florida, Brazil and more. Europe is unknown to me yet ironically Europe is the heart of spearfishing. I think this board could especially useful in the Atlantic.
