shoot is not low, i have shoot low becouse target has many holes in center  and I didnt want spear goes to same hole... than i dont have sound when spear hits target

Precision of gun is very good, on 6meters 2cm in left due to recoil, but thare is one thing left to fix and it will be center-center

you can think thats not 4m, but why should i lie... i make guns for myself not for selling :P

results from test on 4m with 135x8mm : 2x17,5 on paranco + 16 up: 24,5ms

2x17,5 on paranco ,no rubber up: 20ms

2x17,5+16 on paranco +16up : 30,1ms

2x17,5+16on paranco ,no rubber up: 26,3ms

5,5m with 135x8: 2x17,5+16 on paranco +16up : 26,8ms

When the gun is loaded with 2x17,5+16 on paranco and 16mm up and dyneema from paranco is on middle of spear not on end i have speed of 27ms on 4m... what is strange becouse rubbers are on much lower % elongation and speed different is only 3ms ?

Hi Pakystunt,

I never thought you were lying… I do speargun precision shooting as a sport and I know it is difficult to keep the same distance from the target in spite of the many floaters and objects which mark distances. In your video you shot without any landmarks or floaters that could mark the distance from the target. 20 cm more or less from your target, above all in the sea, is way more likely than being able to shoot consistently from a distance of 4 m.

NB I'm discussing the precision of the data you provided. I make guns myself and I don't sell them either...

From the video we can see your shot hitting lower than you aimed… anyway your spear may hit the target lower than you aimed with consistency and that would mean you gun is still doing its job properly (you just need to keep this factor into consideration every time you shoot, but this is not easy when you are fishing. If you get distracted by other things and you forget to adjust your aim you may end up hitting the fish in the bowels, where the tissues are softer; this way it could break free more easily and you'd lose your catch).

My guns shoot true to the way I aim (in a straight line) but sometimes I forget myself and still adjust the aim shooting a bit higher than necessary (a residue of many years fishing with roller guns). It's the most common mistake I make when I shoot, these days.

Volcan was designed to eliminate extra rubber bands without losing any power: this has considerably improved the shot, which is now straight (in line with the shooter's aim), because recoil has been reduced dramatically.

All the best,

Oreste

Tnx for answer

In hunting I didnt notice that gun is shooting low, I only notice that on long range shots (5-6m) I miss few centimeters to left because of recoil. I will make new video when water will not be so murky.

Volcan is great gun, what is speed without rubber up

ciao

I try to translate for you:

My dear friend Mario this summer has given me his volcan, with the permission to make some changes and i've done some. I can tell You that now I prefer it to the mach (another great gun invented by Orvac), catching fishes over 4 mt from the tip of the shift (limit that the mach couldn't exceed). Dear Oreste (Orvac) thanks for your great idea and thanks Mario for your gift. Among all spearguns tried this is the number one for sure, try for believing. Regard to Paky, it's sure that the gun is a vela (with various configurations) but, my opinion, there's something missing, something that he doesn't speak of, that doesn't make the shaft wind, (good Oreste you've noticed it), come on Paky tell us what it is that may be I've understood it. Bye, Efisio.

My Volcan with 3 pairs of 16 mm rubber bands (elongating rate 3.6) with a 8mm spear (130 cm long) shot the spear at the average speed of 25.1 m/s, 5 meters away from the target (no upper rubber band). Recoil is reduced and when loading the gun I still had 10 cm left to load it to its maximum capacity (it wasn't fully loaded). I have never run any tests to the gun's maximum loading capacity because I don't have the right recording equipment and because the speed I'm getting now is more than enough for my needs.
